It's not necessary to overnight in Puerto Montt because you can get every connection also directly from Puerto Varas without problems!

Shuttle buses between Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas every 5 minutes (about 600$ - less than 1 US$ - just 20 min/15 km)

Direct bus connections to Santiago and all other major cities, as well as to Chiloé and Puerto Montt Airport
