Hostels for Backpackers in Chile : Pucon - Punta Arenas

 


Pucon - La Tetera (info@tetera.cl)(www.tetera.cl). The small town of Pucon in the Lake District is one of the best places for adventure tourism and outdoor activities in Chile. Located at the end of the Villarica Lake, it is surrounded by national parks, mountains, rivers and lakes, but the highlight is the smoking Villarica - Volcano which dominates the view.

 


Pucon - Kila Leufu (info@kilaleufu.cl)(www.kilaleufu.cl). Located in the Lake District, just outside Pucon and next to three volcanoes and four hot springs.

 


Curarrehue - Thermas de Panqui (panquihotsprings@hotmail.com)(www.backpackerschile.com). Thermas de Panqui liteally means "Cougar Hot Springs" in Mapudungun the language of the Mapuche (Mapu = Earth, Che = People).

 


Rupanco - Puntiagudo Lodge (bahiaescocia@terra.cl), is an part of the Andean rain forest on the Lake Rupanco.

 


Puerto Octay - Zapato Amarillo (shiela@telsur.cl)(www.zapatoamarillo.8k.com). From the town, you have spectacular views of the volcanoes Calbuco, Osorno, Puntiagudo, which are part of Vincente Perez Rosales National Park.

Beautiful small town directly on the Llanquihue Lake (one of the biggest Lakes in South America) with perfect view of Volcanoes Osorno, Calbuco, Puntiagudo. good starting point in the Lake District because here you can do: Trekking, Hiking, Climbing Volcano Osorno, Rafting, Canoeing, Canyoning, Fly Fishing, Horseback Riding and more.

Ancud - Hostal Mundo Nuevo (martinsicher@gmx.net)(www.newworld.cl). Ancud is located at the north end of the Isla Grande, which sits on a small peninsula facing the Canal de Chacao, with the Golfo de Quetalmahue to the west. You can visite a Penguin Colony.

 


Chonchi - Esmeralda By The Sea (carlosgrady@hotmail.com)(www.esmeralda.cjb.net). Chonchi,Chiloe is centrally located for traditional Chilote activities. It is no fare from Castro the capital of Chiloe and it is a very good starting point to visit the National-Park Chiloe and explore all the very interesting surroundings with small Islands full of magic.

 


Coyhaique - Hostal Salamandras (info@salamandras.cl)(www.salamandras.cl). The Carretera Austral covers over 1000 Kms through the mountainous evergreen and beech forests of central, western Patagonia. This is the area of most varied landscape, plant and animal life in the region. The famous Patagoien ice caps are also in the same area.

 


Puerto Natales - Casa Cecilia (redcecilia@entelchile.net)(www.backpackerschile.com). This small and rustic city surrounded by fiords and chanels, located in the Inlet of Last Hope (Ultima Esperanza). It is the starting point to visit the Torres del Paine and Bernardo O.Higgins national parks with the patagonian glaciers, lakes and fiords.

 


Punta Arenas - Hospedaje Costanera (hospedajecostanera@hotmail.com). Punta Arenas is located at the foot of the Andes on the western side of the Strait of Magellan,Patagonias most intersting city features many mansions and other impressive buildings dating from the wool boom of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is the connection point to Ushuaia and the Antarctic.
