Hostels for Backpackers in Chile : Arica – Villarrica

 


Arica - Sunny Days Hostel (sunnydaysarica@hotmail.com). Arica is a cross roads for visitors to Peru and Bolivia. It is also an entry point to the national park "Parque National Lauca" - The climate and beaches attracts thousands of visitors each year. A relaxed, safe beach resort city.

 


La Serena - Casa Maria (www.mariacasa.cl). La Serena is one of Chiles oldest Cities and lies on the south bank of the rio Elqui. You can visit the famos "Observatorio Cerro Tololo", which is one of the most important Observatory in the world

 


San Pedro de Atacama - Hostal Mamatierra (mamatierra@123mail.cl). San Pedro is popolar for all visitors on the northern end of the salar the Atacama. You can visit the Valle de la Luna, the geysers at El Tatio.

 


Valparaiso - Casa Aventura (casatur@ctcinternet.cl). Valparaiso is located on the Pacific coast. Here you will find good spots for observing sea-birds, -lions and penguins. there are plenty of inviting beaches for sunbathing, surfing or paragliding from the coastal cliffs. The national park "La Campana" offers different adventure activities like rock climbing and trekking.

Santiago - Bellavista Hostel (gonzalorodriguez@gmx.net). Places you can walk to: Downtown area, Pablo Neruda´s house (La Chascona), Parque Metropolitano, Parque forestal, Plaza Italia, Santiago´s museums and more.

 


Pichilemu - Casa Bayern (suepuntadelobo@mixmail.com). Pichilemu has been is this region most popular beach resort since beginning of the 20th century.

 


Talca - Casa Chueca (casachueca@hotmail.com). In the National Parks Siete Tazas and Vilches you can meet real cowboys, find unspoilt natural beauty, and bathe in hot springs with sunshine virtually guaranteed! It is a real mus to take the train along the Maule River to the coast of Constitucion.

 


Costitution - Ruta Verde/Casa del Bosque (tours@rutaverde.cl). Admire the native forest and the views of pristine pools as you trek over rocks and, at certain parts, trough the river. Make a Boat cruise along the Maule River!

 


Los Angeles - El Rincon (elrincon@cvmail.cl). Los Angeles is not Hollywood! Nearby is the Salto del Lacha, the aereas biggest attracion.

 


Curacautin - La Suizandina (lasuizandina@gmx.net). Curacautin is situated in the northern region of the Conguillio area. A wide range of outdoor activities are possible: Climbing up to the volcanoes, horse riding and mountain biking. The climate is also ideal for winter activities.

 


Villarrica - La Torre Suiza (info@torresuiza.com). Villarrica is famous for wooden handicraft, you find markets all over the town. There is also a Ruca, an ancient house of the Mapuches at the market. In summer they show traditional dances and celebrate their ceremonies. Villarrica is the perfect base for the independent traveler to explore the area.
